MANILA — Veteran actress and media executive Charo Santos-Concio reaffirmed her commitment to public service as she joined the 79th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), where she honored the courage and dedication of the men and women safeguarding the country’s skies.
A commissioned Philippine Air Force reservist, Santos shared highlights of the celebration on social media, expressing pride in being part of the organization and recognizing the sacrifices of military personnel.
“It is always an honor to stand alongside the brave men and women who serve our nation with courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment,” she said in her post.
The celebration was attended by key government and military officials, including Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr., Lt. Gen. Arthur M. Cordura, senior PAF officers, fellow reservists, and distinguished guests from various sectors.
Santos described the occasion as a privilege, saying it allowed her to personally recognize those who continue to dedicate their lives to protecting the country’s sovereignty and national security.
She also extended her congratulations to the Philippine Air Force on its 79th anniversary and thanked its personnel for their service to the Filipino people.
Santos officially became a member of the Philippine Air Force Reserve Force in October 2024 after completing military reservist training.
She previously described the experience as one of the most meaningful chapters of her life, saying it challenged her physically and mentally while deepening her sense of patriotism.
Her journey, she said, proved that personal growth and public service know no age limits.
Since completing the program, Santos has remained active in supporting activities that recognize the Armed Forces and promote civic responsibility.
Her participation in the PAF anniversary celebration reflects her continuing role not only as one of the country’s most respected media personalities but also as a reservist committed to supporting the mission and values of the Philippine Air Force.
