MANILA – A deep 38-player rookie class led by UAAP standouts Camilla Lamina and Bernadett Pepito is set to take center stage in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League Draft on Wednesday at Novotel Manila Araneta City.
The event begins at 7 p.m. and will be aired live on One Sports, One Sports+, and Pilipinas Live.
Lamina of National University and Pepito of University of Santo Tomas headline a pool filled with collegiate stars expected to make the leap to the professional ranks.
Athletic testing highlights rising prospects
The Draft Combine showcased the athletic upside of several aspirants.
Adamson’s Barbie Jamili delivered top-tier numbers, leading the 10-meter sprint (1.759 seconds), the 5-10-5 agility test (5.109 seconds), and the hop test with a reactive strength score of 3.36 m/s.
UE’s Khy Cepada also turned heads with strong finishes across multiple events, placing second in sprint and vertical jump tests, and ranking within the top five in agility and jump-related categories.
Key names and UAAP dominance
The draft pool features a heavy UAAP presence, with players from UST, UP, FEU, La Salle, UE, Adamson, and Ateneo making up a large portion of the list.
Far Eastern University’s Tin Ubaldo will be absent on draft night due to her commitment to the Alas Pilipinas Women training camp ahead of the AVC Women’s Cup in Ilocos Sur.
Also included is the lone Filipino-foreign applicant, Jade Fuentes of Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Top pick and draft mechanics
Galeries Tower earned the No. 1 overall pick after the draft lottery, followed by Capital1, Choco Mucho, Akari, Nxled, Farm Fresh, PLDT, and Creamline.
Teams that pass on their selections will lose remaining picks, while withdrawn applicants must rejoin next year’s draft cycle under PVL rules.
