MANILA — The governments of the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates are enhancing their partnership to improve healthcare access and medical assistance for Overseas Filipino Workers in the UAE.
Part of the initiative includes developing a more organized system that will help OFWs gain easier access to medical consultations, treatment, and health insurance support while working abroad.
Authorities are also intensifying health awareness campaigns focusing on illnesses commonly affecting Filipino workers, particularly hypertension and diabetes.
Maha Barakat praised the healthcare programs being pushed by Teodoro Herbosa to safeguard the welfare of Filipinos residing in the UAE.
Officials from both countries underscored the importance of stronger healthcare cooperation to ensure the long-term health and well-being of OFWs.
