
MANILA – Cash sent home by overseas Filipinos reached USD 2.87 billion in March, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
Latest data released on Friday showed that land-based workers contributed USD 2.26 billion, while sea-based workers accounted for USD 0.61 billion.
For the first quarter of 2026, total cash remittances grew by 2.8 percent to USD 8.68 billion, up from USD 8.44 billion in the same period last year.
The United States remained the leading source of remittances, contributing 39.9 percent of the total from January to March. It was followed by Singapore at 7.6 percent and Saudi Arabia at 6.3 percent.
Meanwhile, personal remittances, which include money sent through banks, informal channels, and in-kind transfers, reached USD 3.20 billion in March.
On a year-to-date basis, personal remittances also increased by 2.8 percent to USD 9.66 billion, compared with USD 9.40 billion in the same period in 2025.
