MANILA — Senator Robin Padilla is pressing Sen. Francis Pangilinan to issue an apology on the Senate floor following a heated exchange during a plenary session.
Padilla said Pangilinan allegedly shouted at him during the discussion, an act he described as “unparliamentary” under Senate rules.
The confrontation reportedly took place amid deliberations involving the warrant of arrest against Sen. Ronald dela Rosa.
Following the incident, Padilla declined to shake Pangilinan’s hand after the session.
In a subsequent session, Padilla insisted that the apology be made on record during Senate proceedings, not after adjournment.
Pangilinan did not comply, saying Padilla had already signaled intent to bring the matter before the Senate ethics committee. He also said he is ready to face any formal complaint that may be filed.
