MANILA – Tropical Depression Caloy is forecast to weaken into a remnant low on Monday while remaining far from the Philippine landmass, PAGASA reported.
In its early morning advisory, the weather bureau said the cyclone is not expected to directly affect the country throughout its forecast track.
Caloy was estimated at 530 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar as of 5 a.m. It continues to pack winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour near the center, with gusts reaching 55 kph.
PAGASA has not raised any wind signals across the country.
However, several coastal areas may continue to experience moderate to rough seas, particularly along the eastern seaboards of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Affected areas include Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Eastern Samar, Surigao del Sur, Catanduanes, Dinagat Islands, Siargao-Bucas Grande Islands, and Davao Oriental, among others.
The weather bureau urged mariners operating motor bancas and other small vessels to remain cautious and avoid sailing under unfavorable sea conditions.
