MANILA — Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida said he will meet with his counterparts in the Czech Republic on Monday to confirm details about Zaldy Co’s situation.
Vida explained that the talks are intended to cross-check information and clear up questions regarding Co’s status.
He also expressed confidence that the trip would yield meaningful results, saying he does not expect to return to the Philippines without progress.
Earlier statements from Vida indicated that Co may no longer be in Czech territory.
Meanwhile, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had earlier announced that Czech authorities arrested Co, but this was later clarified by DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez, who said Co was not formally detained, though his liberty had been limited.
