MANILA – Several parts of the Philippines will experience cloudy weather and rain showers on Sunday as easterlies persist.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Caraga, Eastern Samar, and Southern Leyte will have cloudy conditions with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by moisture-laden winds from the Pacific.
Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert for potential flash floods or landslides as rainfall may intensify at times.
In Batanes, a frontal system will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. This weather disturbance occurs when warm and cold air converge, leading to unstable conditions.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the same weather system.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are forecast nationwide, while the heat index may climb to 35.5°C in the afternoon.
