
MANILA – Generally fair weather conditions are expected to continue across the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Saturday.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the entire country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with the possibility of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Moderate winds and seas are forecast over the eastern sections of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal conditions.
The weather bureau also warned of high heat index levels, or the “feels-like” temperature combining air heat and humidity. The index is expected to peak at 42°C in Pasay City, Sangley Point in Cavite, Cotabato City, and Butuan City.
Areas such as San Ildefonso in Bulacan and Coron, Palawan may see heat indices reaching 41°C. Meanwhile, 40°C is forecast in Baler, Aurora; Camiling, Tarlac; Dumangas, Iloilo; Zamboanga City; and Davao City.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Typhoon Sinlaku was last located about 2,570 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
The storm carries sustained winds of 120 kph, with gusts reaching up to 150 kph, and is moving north-northwest at 15 kph.
