MANILA — A ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) continues to affect Northern Luzon, bringing generally fair weather conditions across much of the country.
As of 3:00 a.m., Super Typhoon Sinlaku (2604) was spotted far outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), approximately 2,580 kilometers east of the Visayas. The weather system packs maximum sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching up to 250 km/h, moving west-northwestward at 15 km/h.
Despite the presence of the typhoon, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather disturbances. Authorities warn of possible flash floods or landslides during intense thunderstorms.
Wind conditions across Northern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao remain light to moderate, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
Meanwhile, temperature readings from PAGASA’s Science Garden station in Quezon City recorded a high of 32.9°C and a low of 25.0°C over the past 24 hours. Relative humidity ranged from 48 percent to 80 percent.
