MANILA – State weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is closely monitoring a low-pressure area spotted beyond the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which could develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.
The LPA was last tracked 3,095 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao as of early Wednesday morning.
While the disturbance remains far from the country, PAGASA said most areas will continue to experience hot and humid weather conditions.
Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may occur due to localized weather activity.
Temperatures are expected to soar to 36°C in Tuguegarao and up to 35°C in both Metro Manila and Davao.
Heat index values may reach a dangerous 42°C in Cotabato City and Butuan City, while Metro Manila could feel temperatures as high as 37°C.
Winds will remain light to moderate, with seas ranging from slight to moderate across the country.
