MANILA — The Palace on Monday reassured Filipinos that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is in good health and continuing his official duties, countering recent online speculation.
Palace spokesperson Claire Castro made the statement after the President missed an engagement with returning overseas Filipino workers, which triggered rumors about his condition.
“He’s doing well,” Castro said during a press briefing.
She further explained that the President had other scheduled activities for the day, including attending an oath-taking ceremony for vice mayors.
Castro reminded the public to rely on verified news sources rather than unconfirmed social media reports.
“Siguro mas mangingibabaw dapat ang mainstream media kaysa sa mga socmed na walang basehan,” she noted, stressing that misinformation continues to circulate widely online.
