MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala is set to continue her 2026 campaign on clay as she lines up appearances in two key tournaments in Europe—the Stuttgart Open and the Madrid Open.
Currently ranked World No. 45, the Filipina netter is listed among the qualifiers for the Stuttgart Open, a WTA 500 event scheduled from April 13 to 19 in Germany. She is also included in the roster for the Madrid Open, which runs from April 21 to May 3.
Eala’s return to Madrid carries added significance after her previous campaign saw her push world No. 1 Iga Świątek to three sets before bowing out in the second round.
Before heading to Germany and Spain, Eala will kick off her clay season at the Linz Open in Austria from April 6 to 12, another WTA 500 tournament that features top players such as Emma Raducanu, Clara Tauson, Jelena Ostapenko, and defending champion Ekaterina Alexandrova.
The young Filipina recently wrapped up her stint in the United States, reaching the Round of 16 in both Indian Wells and the Miami Open—solid results that provide momentum heading into the clay-court stretch.
