MANILA – Much of the country will experience warm and humid weather on Monday, with isolated thunderstorms likely later in the day, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
Weather expert Aldczar Aurelio said conditions will feel particularly hot at midday, while thunderstorms could develop during the afternoon and evening.
At present, PAGASA is not monitoring any weather disturbance either inside or beyond the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
For the next two to three days, easterlies will continue to affect the Visayas and Mindanao, while the ridge of a high-pressure system will influence Northern Luzon.
The weather bureau expects Monday’s highest temperature to reach 36°C in Tuguegarao, while temperatures could reach 34°C in Davao and Zamboanga.
A heat index of up to 40°C may be recorded in San Jose, Dagupan City, La Granja, and Zamboanga City.
In the National Capital Region, the heat index could range between 36°C and 37°C.
PAGASA added that light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are expected across the country.
