SAN PEDRO, Laguna — Authorities apprehended 31 individuals during a focused anti-drug operation in San Pedro, Laguna, earlier this week.
According to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), 28 of those arrested tested positive for illegal drugs. The operation, carried out on Wednesday, also led to the seizure of roughly 30.5 grams of suspected shabu.
The raids were executed under multiple search warrants issued by Judge Nida Tabulada-Gravino of San Pedro City Regional Trial Court Branch 169, targeting Barangays San Antonio and Cuyab simultaneously.
The NBI Dangerous Drugs Division led the operation, coordinating with other units to ensure its success.
“This crackdown sends a strong message that illegal drugs will find no refuge, even at the local community level,” said NBI chief Melvin Matibag. “We remain committed to personally leading efforts to dismantle drug operations wherever they occur.”
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine whether the arrested individuals have ties to organized drug syndicates.
