MANILA — As Muslim communities celebrate Eid al-Fitr, President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. encouraged Filipinos to carry forward the lessons of faith, discipline, and generosity learned during the holy month of Ramadan.
The President joined Muslim Filipinos in observing the important occasion, describing it as both reflective and celebratory after a month devoted to prayer, fasting, and acts of kindness.
Marcos said Ramadan reminds people that meaningful rewards often come through sacrifice and that strong faith can reinforce both personal character and community bonds.
He stressed that the spirit of Ramadan should not end with the breaking of the fast, but should continue guiding people’s actions and relationships.
The values strengthened during the sacred period—including compassion, patience, humility, and charity—should help strengthen families, uplift communities, and renew hope across the country, he said.
Marcos also pointed to the example set by Muslim Filipinos, praising their generosity, perseverance in the face of hardship, and strong sense of responsibility.
He noted that these qualities contribute to building a nation grounded in unity, empathy, and shared responsibility.
