MANILA — Two men were arrested in a crackdown on illegal numbers games in Sta. Ana, Manila, on March 17, 2026. Daniel Christopher Sumook, 23, and Gilbert Danao y Buenavidez, 64, were caught running an “EZ2 Loteng” game at J Posadas, Brgy 900, Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila, at around 3:00 p.m.
The arrest was made by personnel of the Sta. ‘s Intel Section. Ana Police Station, led by PMSg Chuck Jethro Mariano, PCpl Lowie Dela Cruz, and PCpl Leobert Comedia. The police confiscated a pad paper with lists of bet numbers, a sticky note used as an improvised bet receipt, a black ball pen, and bet money amounting to ₱550.
The suspects, both residents of Sta. Ana, Manila, were informed of their rights and the charges against them. A complaint for Violation of Republic Act 9287 (Illegal Numbers Games) is being prepared and will be referred to the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings.
The operation was part of the police’s anti-criminality campaign under the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO).
