MANILA – With the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference approaching its final stretch, Creamline looks to bounce back as they face Farm Fresh on Tuesday at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna. The Cool Smashers and the Foxies clash at 6:30 p.m., both vying for a spot in the qualifying round.
Creamline’s recent loss to Akari, 21-25, 26-28, 25-17, 21-25, dropped them to a 5-2 record, keeping their playoff hopes hanging by a thread. PLDT and Cignal have already secured qualifying round berths, leaving Creamline, Nxled, Akari, and Farm Fresh to compete for the remaining two spots.
Nxled is fourth with a 4-4 record and only one game left, while Akari follows at 4-3. Farm Fresh, with a 3-4 record and two matches remaining, remains a dark horse. Creamline wraps up the preliminaries against Cignal on Saturday, making every point crucial.
The possibility of tiebreakers looms if Creamline loses both remaining matches and two challengers finish 5-4, escalating the stakes as the preliminaries conclude.
Creamline will rely on its key players—Jema Galanza, Tots Carlos, Bernadeth Pons, Michele Gumabao, Pangs Panga, and Bea de Leon—to lead the charge. Farm Fresh will counter with Trisha Tubu, setter Alohi Robins-Hardy, and seasoned players Ces Molina, Royse Tubino, Mylene Paat, Ara Galang, and Riri Meneses.
Earlier, Akari will try to maintain momentum against Galerie Tower at 4 p.m. The Chargers are expected to continue their impressive form against the struggling Highrisers, who have lost three consecutive games after their earlier shock victory over Nxled.
