MANILA — San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has clarified that online posts raising doubts about its Bulacan airport project are misleading and do not reflect the real progress of the venture.
The company noted that false information circulating on social media can cause confusion among the public and unnecessary concern among investors and other stakeholders.
“Some statements circulating online are inaccurate and misleading. This can create unnecessary confusion for the public and concern for stakeholders,” SMC said.
To ensure accurate understanding, SMC urged those with questions about the airport project to direct their inquiries through official channels, which provide access to verified technical data.
SMC also said it has requested Meta Platforms to review accounts that repeatedly spread misinformation while concealing their identities, consistent with the platform’s community standards.
The company reaffirmed that all development activities for the Bulacan airport are being conducted according to international standards and with support from global experts.
