MANILA — Thirty-two Filipinos, including 23 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), have safely returned to the Philippines from the Middle East. They arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 on March 10, aboard Flight WY843, and were welcomed by officials from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The group, which included six dependents from Dubai and three OFWs from Oman, was monitored by the Rapid Response Team, which facilitated their departure from Dubai, processed travel documents, and coordinated with host country authorities. They were first transferred to Oman via land travel before boarding the repatriation flight.
Upon arrival, the repatriates received assistance, including food, transportation, temporary accommodation, and psychosocial support. This evacuation highlights the government’s efforts to ensure the safety and welfare of Filipinos abroad, particularly in regions with escalating tensions.
The DMW, OWWA, and DSWD continue to provide support to Filipinos in distress, reinforcing the government’s commitment to protecting its citizens worldwide.
