MANILA — The Philippine National Police has designated Brigadier General Hansel Marantan as the new head of the Police Regional Office CALABARZON (PRO-4A), with his appointment taking effect on March 9, 2026.
The order was confirmed through General Orders No. NHQ-GO-DES-2026-1126 issued by the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.
Marantan previously served as Director of the Highway Patrol Group before taking on the leadership of the CALABARZON regional police command. In his new role, he will supervise police operations in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.
The change in leadership was formalized during a turnover ceremony held at Camp Crame where PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Corpuz Nartatez Jr. presented Marantan with the symbolic flag of command.
The ceremony was attended by outgoing regional director Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas, who has been reassigned as Director of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force.
At the same time, Brigadier General Jessie Tamayao, currently serving as Executive Officer of the PNP Directorate for Police Community Relations, was named the new chief of the Highway Patrol Group, succeeding Marantan.
Lucas will take over the Special Action Force from Major General Mark Pespes, who recently concluded his service following his retirement.
The appointments are part of the PNP’s continuing internal reorganization designed to strengthen operational effectiveness, reinforce leadership within the ranks, and enhance police service delivery across the country.
