WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump declared Friday that U.S. military operations in Iran are “going very well,” claiming the country’s armed forces have been severely weakened.
“In Iran, we’re performing exceptionally. On a scale from zero to ten, I’d give it 12 to 15,” Trump told White House reporters.
He said Iran’s naval fleet is destroyed, communications crippled, and leadership repeatedly eliminated, now down to its third tier. “Their air force is entirely gone, and all 32 of their ships are at the bottom of the ocean,” Trump added.
These statements come as U.S. and Israeli airstrikes, which began on Feb. 28, have reportedly caused more than 1,000 fatalities, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, over 150 schoolgirls, and top military officials.
Iran has responded with drone and missile attacks on U.S.-linked locations. A drone strike in Kuwait killed six American troops at a tactical operations center.
Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems successfully intercepted four drones over the Empty Quarter heading toward the Shaybah Oil Field, preventing any damage.
Saudia resumes flights to Dubai
Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s national airline, partially resumed flights between Riyadh and Dubai on March 7, initially operating two outbound and two inbound services. Further flights will be added depending on regional stability. Passengers can book via the airline’s official website or app.
Kuwait Airways has also launched flights from multiple international cities, including Barcelona, Paris, Milan, Munich, and Bangkok, to Saudi Arabia to help transport Kuwaiti nationals home by land. Travelers require a Saudi transit visa.
Recent U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, followed by Tehran’s retaliatory strikes, have disrupted air travel in the Middle East, prompting temporary airspace closures and flight cancellations. (Anadolu/PNA)
