MANILA — Weather conditions across the Philippines are currently shaped by two systems: the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) affecting Extreme Northern Luzon, and easterlies influencing the rest of the country.
In Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands, cloudy weather accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms is expected. These rains may become moderate to heavy at times and could result in flash floods or landslides.
The Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rainfall brought by the northeast monsoon, with minimal expected impacts.
For Metro Manila and other parts of the country, isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may develop throughout the day due to easterly winds. Strong thunderstorms could still produce localized flooding or landslides.
Sea and Wind Conditions
Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will affect Extreme Northern Luzon, generating moderate to rough seas up to 3.7 meters.
The rest of Luzon, as well as Visayas and Mindanao, will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
