MANILA — The Department of Justice (DOJ) has continued its preliminary investigation into the plunder complaint filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against former senator Bong Revilla over an alleged flood control anomaly.
Four former engineers from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) appeared before the DOJ and requested additional time to submit their counter-affidavits.
Revilla’s lawyers questioned the NBI’s move to include additional respondents in the complaint, arguing that there remains no solid evidence linking the former senator to the alleged anomaly.
The DOJ has given the respondents until March 13 to file their counter-affidavits. The case is expected to be resolved within 60 days.
Polo Martinez.
