MANILA — A majority of Filipino adults want Vice President Sara Duterte to personally testify before the Senate impeachment court, with 51% supporting her appearance, according to Pulse Asia Research’s September 2026 survey.
The survey, conducted from September 17 to 24 among 2,400 adults, found that 34% opposed her appearance, 14% were undecided and 1% declined to answer.
Despite the public interest, 53% of respondents said they knew little about the impeachment case, while 6% reported almost no or no knowledge of the proceedings.
Still, 55% expressed interest in the trial, compared with 20% who were not interested and 25% who were undecided.
The internet and television were the leading information sources, cited by 64% and 59% of respondents, respectively. News reports on both platforms were each cited by 58%.
Meanwhile, 71% said they were aware of allegations concerning Duterte’s unexplained wealth. Of those aware, 39% could not determine whether the allegations were true.
The survey also found that 60% expected some senator-judges to act fairly and others unfairly in deciding the impeachment case.
The results reflect public opinion during the survey period and do not establish the truth of the allegations against the Vice President.
