MANILA — The country is in for another warm and humid day today, with sunny periods in some areas giving way to cloudy skies and possible thunderstorms later in the day.
For Luzon, PAGASA is forecasting partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused mainly by localized weather disturbances. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rain, lightning and strong winds over a short period.
The possibility of sudden downpours means residents in low-lying and landslide-prone communities should stay alert, particularly when dark clouds build up in the afternoon.
Despite the threat of rain, temperatures are expected to remain relatively high, making the weather feel hot and humid before thunderstorms develop.
In other parts of the country, the Intertropical Convergence Zone is bringing a greater chance of rain. Central Visayas, the Negros Island Region, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga and Palawan may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
PAGASA said moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall in affected areas could lead to localized flooding or landslides.
The weather bureau advised the public to keep updated with its latest forecasts and warnings, especially before traveling or engaging in outdoor activities.
Weather conditions may change quickly, particularly during thunderstorms, so residents are encouraged to take necessary precautions once heavy rain, lightning or strong winds are observed.
