The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked actor Nino Muhlach’s driver’s license for two years after finding him liable for reckless driving in connection with a road crash in Antipolo City on August 23.
LTO Chief Markus Lacanilao said the penalty was imposed following the agency’s investigation and hearing, stressing that traffic laws would be enforced regardless of the status or identity of those involved.
“Seryoso ang LTO sa pagpapatupad ng batas-trapiko, lalo na sa mga paglabag na maaaring magdulot ng panganib sa ibang gumagamit ng kalsada,” Lacanilao said.
He said the agency would impose the appropriate penalties based on the findings of the investigation and hearing.
The LTO investigation determined that Muhlach had experienced severe fatigue before losing control of the vehicle he was driving. The vehicle subsequently crashed into three establishments.
Based on its findings, the LTO declared Muhlach liable for Reckless Driving and classified him as an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.
These findings became the basis for the two-year revocation of his driver’s license.
The vehicle involved in the crash also remains under alarm status, effectively preventing transactions involving the vehicle while the LTO resolution remains in effect.
Lacanilao reiterated that the agency’s enforcement of traffic regulations applies equally to all motorists, with penalties determined by the results of official proceedings.
