MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon will continue to bring rain to several parts of the Philippines today and tomorrow, with the heaviest monsoon activity expected over western and northern sections of Luzon.
PAGASA said Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales and Bataan may experience monsoon rains today, while Metro Manila and parts of Central and Southern Luzon may see occasional rain.
Cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms are also likely over other portions of Luzon and the Visayas. Mindanao will generally have partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, although isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may still occur.
Similar weather is expected Wednesday as the Habagat continues to affect Luzon and parts of the western Visayas.
Tropical Depression Pilandok, meanwhile, remains far east of Northern Luzon and poses little direct threat to the country. PAGASA said the system is unlikely to make landfall and is expected to move out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next few days.
Residents in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas are advised to monitor weather advisories, while sea travelers are urged to exercise caution because of potentially rough seas in several coastal areas.
