MANILA — Filipinos in Luzon and the Visayas should brace for another rain-filled day as the southwest monsoon continues to affect the country, PAGASA said Friday.
Cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected across much of Luzon and the Visayas, with some areas potentially experiencing moderate to heavy downpours.
The weather bureau cautioned that prolonged or intense rainfall could trigger flooding and landslides, particularly in low-lying communities and areas near mountain slopes.
Metro Manila may also see periods of rain and thunderstorms as the monsoon flow persists.
Meanwhile, Mindanao will generally have partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms possible during the day.
PAGASA said there is currently no gale warning, but moderate to rough seas are expected along the Luzon coast. The public is advised to exercise caution when traveling by sea.
Authorities and residents in areas vulnerable to flooding and landslides are encouraged to stay updated on official weather and rainfall warnings.
