MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) plans to use its latest favorable survey results as motivation to raise the quality of its services and strengthen its relationship with the communities it serves.
The OCTA Research 2nd Quarter Tugon ng Masa survey placed the PNP’s trust rating at 65 percent, while its performance rating stood at 63 percent.
PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co said the ratings are encouraging but should not lead the organization to become complacent.
Instead, he said the results should push police personnel to work harder, uphold discipline and integrity, and provide faster and more responsive assistance to the public.
Co welcomed the findings during a press briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Monday.
He said the PNP remains focused on improving public safety through greater police presence and quicker action when incidents are reported.
The organization is likewise committed to enforcing the law promptly and humanely while stepping up efforts against crime and strengthening coordination with local governments and community groups.
OCTA Research conducted the nationwide survey from July 4 to 11, interviewing 1,200 Filipinos aged 18 and above through face-to-face interviews.
