MANILA — A 20-year-old female student died after reportedly falling from the Silk Residences Condominium in Barangay 586, Zone 57, Sampaloc here early Friday morning, August 14.
The incident was reported to the Sampaloc Police Station at around 7 a.m., shortly after the reported fall at about 6:56 a.m.
Police identified the victim as Alexandra Quinol y Albia, 20, a student and resident of the condominium.
Responding personnel from the Gulod Police Community Precinct, led by PLT Christopher P. Nogoy, were already at the scene when investigators arrived.
The victim’s lifeless body was found covered along Santol Street near the corner of Manga Street in Barangay 586.
Based on the initial information gathered by police, Quinol was with friends at their condominium unit for a drinking session beginning at around 11 p.m. on August 13.
Her roommate told investigators that the victim was last seen alive at around 5 a.m. Friday, when she was reportedly sleeping.
At approximately 6:56 a.m., a witness, identified as Precious Salvador, 20, reportedly woke up and saw Quinol hanging from the balcony.
The witness told police that moments later, the victim fell.
A concerned citizen subsequently called the Sampaloc Police Station, prompting duty personnel and investigators to proceed to the area and verify the report.
Initial information gathering was completed at around 9:50 a.m. the same day.
The circumstances surrounding the fall remain under investigation. Police have yet to establish whether the incident was accidental or the result of other circumstances.
The Manila Police District Homicide Section, represented by PMSg Archie Victorino, has taken jurisdiction over the case and is expected to conduct further investigation to determine what led to the fatal fall.
Police investigators will also examine the statements of the victim’s roommate, friends, and other witnesses as part of the ongoing inquiry.
