MANILA — A 59-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in Tondo by the Manila Police District (MPD) on a warrant issued in connection with an alleged violation of Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Police identified the arrested man as Ricardo Dela Cruz, who was taken into custody at about 12:20 p.m. on August 12 along Velasquez Street corner Pilapil Street in Barangay 74, Tondo.
Personnel of the Jose Abad Santos Police Station (PS-7) Warrant and Subpoena Section served the warrant under the supervision of Station Commander PLTCOL Luke P. Ventura.
The warrant was issued on August 5, 2026, by the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 48 in connection with Criminal Case No. R-MNL-26-04638-CR.
The court set bail at P80,000, according to the police report.
Police said both a body-worn camera and an alternative recording device were used during the implementation of the warrant.
The accused was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understood and chose to remain silent, police said.
He remains in police custody pending the return of the warrant to the court of origin for proper disposition.
