MANILA — The Manila city government has advised motorists to expect major road closures beginning Saturday evening until Sunday to give way to the United People’s Initiative rally on July 26, 2026.
Among the roads that will be closed are C.M. Recto Avenue, from Nicanor Reyes Street to Mendiola Street, and Legarda Street, from Figueras Street to San Rafael Street.
Authorities will also shut down Magallanes Drive, from Jones Bridge to MacArthur Bridge, including the stretch of road between the Manila Central Post Office and Liwasang Bonifacio.
Starting 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Ayala Bridge and the eastbound lane of Ayala Boulevard, from San Marcelino Street to Romualdez Street, will likewise be closed to traffic until Sunday.
Also affected are the southbound lane of MacArthur Bridge, from Plaza Lacson to Liwasang Bonifacio, and Quezon Boulevard, from A. Mendoza Street/Fugoso Street through Quezon Bridge to Liwasang Bonifacio.
Meanwhile, Lerma Street, from España Boulevard/P. Campa Street to A. Mendoza Street, will also be inaccessible to motorists on the day of the rally.
The Manila local government urged the public to plan their trips and take alternative routes to avoid heavy traffic and delays during the scheduled mass gathering.
