MANILA — Manila continues to reinforce its position as the country’s premier business hub, serving as the center where trade, investments, and major economic activities converge to drive the Philippine economy.
In partnership with Vice Mayor Chie Atienza and the Manila City Council, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso has been implementing programs aimed at strengthening investor confidence, improving infrastructure, and making the city more efficient, transparent, and business-friendly.
As the nation’s capital, Manila remains the primary gateway for goods arriving from various provinces before they are distributed across the country. Its strategic location, well-established commercial network, and extensive logistics infrastructure continue to make it the heart of Philippine commerce.
At the center of this commercial activity is Divisoria, the country’s largest wholesale and retail trading district, where agricultural products, locally manufactured goods, and imported merchandise pass through before reaching businesses and consumers nationwide.
Beyond its role as the country’s trading center, Manila also remains a preferred destination for foreign investors and business leaders seeking opportunities in the Philippines. A significant volume of imported products from different parts of the world enters through Manila before being distributed to other regions.
This has further strengthened Manila’s reputation as the country’s commercial gateway to the international community. For many foreign investors and business executives, Manila is often the first city associated with the Philippines when discussing business, trade, and investment.
City officials attribute this sustained growth to continuous improvements in public services, modernization of infrastructure, streamlined business processes, and renewed confidence among investors and entrepreneurs.
Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso said Manila’s continued economic resurgence is the result of sound governance, clear direction, and policies that create more business opportunities while improving the quality of life of every Manileño.
The mayor also acknowledged the strong support of Vice Mayor Chie Atienza and the Manila City Council, particularly Majority Floor Leader Hon. Raymondo “Mon” Yupangco, for helping advance key legislative measures and local ordinances that have strengthened the city’s investment climate and accelerated economic growth.
