MANILA — Thousands of residents in parts of Metro Manila, Rizal, and Cavite are advised to prepare for temporary water service interruptions this week as Manila Water Company, Inc. and Maynilad Water Services, Inc. carry out maintenance activities and respond to increased water demand in several service areas.
According to Manila Water, customers in portions of Barangay San Jose in Antipolo City, Rizal, will experience a temporary loss of water supply from 10 p.m. on July 7 until 4 a.m. on July 8. The interruption is necessary to facilitate pipeline looping works along Marcos Highway to improve the distribution network.
Maynilad also announced scheduled service interruptions in several areas within its concession.
In Valenzuela City, consumers in parts of Barangays Gen. T. De Leon and Parada will have limited or no water supply from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. on July 6 and July 7 while crews conduct network maintenance along Bernardino Street and Santulan Street.
Meanwhile, selected communities in Barangays Bagbag, San Bartolome and Talipapa in Quezon City will experience water interruptions from 10 p.m. on July 6 until 6 a.m. on July 7 due to leak detection operations inside Kingspoint Subdivision.
A separate leak detection project will also affect portions of Barangay Apolonio Samson, where water service is expected to be interrupted from 10 p.m. on July 7 until 6 a.m. on July 8 as maintenance teams inspect pipelines near the Toctokan and Malac area.
In Imus City, Cavite, Maynilad warned that customers across numerous barangays will face prolonged water supply interruptions on July 6, beginning at 5 a.m. and lasting until 11:59 p.m.
The affected communities include Alapan I-C, the Anabu villages, Bayan Luma I to IX, Bukandala III to V, Carsadang Bago I and II, Malagasang I-A to I-G, Medicion I-B, Poblacion III-B, Poblacion IV-B and IV-D, as well as Tanzang Luma VI.
The utility company attributed the extended interruption in Imus to unusually high water consumption that has affected operations at the Patindig Araw Pumping Station.
Both water concessionaires encouraged customers in affected areas to store enough water ahead of the scheduled service interruptions and to use available supplies prudently while maintenance activities are underway.
