MANILA — The Manila Police District (MPD) has mobilized police personnel, mobile patrol units, and force multipliers throughout the city as part of its intensified security preparations under Oplan Balik-Eskwela 2026, ensuring a safe, orderly, and peaceful reopening of classes on Monday.
Acting District Director PBGen Arnold C. Santiago said adequate police deployment has been strategically positioned in and around schools, transportation terminals, pedestrian crossings, and major thoroughfares across Manila to provide security and assistance to students, teachers, school personnel, and the general public.
“The safety and security of our learners and the academe remain our top priority. MPD is fully prepared and strategically deployed to keep our schools and communities safe as classes resume,” Santiago said.
The police official emphasized that the district’s security measures go beyond school-related deployments, noting that anti-criminality operations, intelligence monitoring, and community safety programs continue to be implemented simultaneously throughout the city.
Authorities expect increased public movement during the opening of classes and have assured residents that law enforcement personnel remain on heightened alert to respond to any security concerns and maintain peace and order.
The MPD also called on parents, guardians, and the public to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious activities, emergencies, or security threats to the nearest police station, Police Assistance Desk, or through the Philippine National Police Emergency Hotline 911.
With thousands of students returning to classrooms, the MPD said it remains committed to ensuring that schools and surrounding communities remain safe and secure throughout the academic year.
