
MANILA – Gilas Pilipinas Women capped their 2026 FIBA 3×3 World Cup stint with a milestone win, defeating Italy 17-13 in Warsaw, Poland, on Wednesday.
Camille Clarin led the charge with an all-around performance of eight points and three rebounds, lifting the Filipinas to their first-ever triumph in World Cup 3×3 action.
Afril Bernardino added experience and stability with four points and six rebounds, while Mikka Cacho and Kacey Dela Rosa provided support with three and two points, respectively, as the team closed out strong against the world No. 11 Italians.
Earlier, the Philippines showed early promise against China, racing to a 6-1 lead, but eventually fell short as China recovered to claim a 20-12 win and advance further in the tournament.
The Gilas Women concluded the group stage with a 1-3 slate, finishing fourth in Pool C. Only the top two teams per group progress directly to the knockout rounds, with third-placed squads entering a play-in phase.
