MANILA — The Palace has reaffirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. continues to express confidence in Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla even as calls for his replacement continue to circulate.
According to Malacañang Press Officer Claire Castro, there is currently no sign that the President has removed his trust in Remulla.
Castro made the statement when asked about how the administration is evaluating Remulla’s performance following recent controversies involving Senate-related developments.
She stressed that, based on her information, the President still trusts the DILG chief.
At the same time, Castro denied having any verified information about rumors linking Antonio Trillanes IV or former official Benhur Abalos Jr. to any potential reshuffling at the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
