MANILA – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Tuesday clarified that no civilian aircraft is currently on standby at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City amid speculation linking it to Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa’s possible transfer to The Hague, Netherlands.
PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Christina Basco said the Air Force has not received any directive involving such an operation.
“We are currently on white alert status, and normal air operations continue at Villamor Air Base. There is nothing unusual happening there,” Basco said in a press briefing at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Basco stressed that reports suggesting unusual movements at the base are inaccurate.
Meanwhile, the International Criminal Court (ICC) recently confirmed the authenticity of an arrest warrant for Dela Rosa that had been circulating publicly.
The ICC said the warrant, issued under seal on November 6, 2025, was officially made public on May 11, 2026, according to ICC spokesperson Oriane Maillet.
