MANILA — Contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II is once again in Senate detention as of Thursday morning, a week after he was taken to a hospital for a shoulder operation.
Senate Secretary Mark Llandro “Dong” Mendoza confirmed that Discaya had been returned to Senate custody earlier in the day.
According to Mendoza, Discaya was cleared by his attending physicians and is fit to continue his recovery while remaining in detention.
The contractor had been temporarily allowed out of Senate custody to undergo a medical procedure on his right shoulder last week.
Discaya has been held at the Senate since September 2025 after being cited for contempt by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee amid hearings into an alleged irregular flood control project.
