
MANILA — On Labor Day, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. underscored the crucial role of Filipino workers in nation-building, pledging continued efforts to expand job opportunities and enhance labor protections.
Marcos described workers as the driving force behind the country’s development, noting that their contributions remain at the core of the administration’s economic and social agenda.
“Our workers are at the heart of our vision for a stronger, fairer, and more hopeful Philippines,” he said.
He assured the public that the government is committed to addressing economic challenges by promoting quality employment, protecting workers’ rights, and opening more pathways for advancement.
The President also commended the dedication of Filipinos across industries, recognizing their sacrifices in supporting their families and sustaining the nation’s growth.
“Your perseverance fuels the country’s strength and keeps our economy moving forward,” he added.
Marcos emphasized that Labor Day should inspire renewed commitment from both public and private sectors to create a society where hard work leads to real opportunities.
“We must ensure that progress is shared and that every Filipino has a fair chance to succeed,” he said.
In a separate statement, the Armed Forces of the Philippines expressed its appreciation for workers nationwide, citing their resilience and determination.
The AFP said it remains committed to protecting the peace that enables Filipinos to work, live, and thrive.
