MANILA – The easterlies will continue to bring warm and moisture-laden air across the Philippines on Thursday, the state weather bureau PAGASA reported.
According to its 4 a.m. update, areas in the eastern section of the country—including Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental—will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms. Residents in these locations are advised to stay alert for possible flash floods and landslides due to intense rainfall.
Elsewhere, including Metro Manila, isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may occur.
Forecast temperatures remain high, with Tuguegarao expected to hit 37°C and Metro Manila reaching up to 35°C.
The heat index may climb to a dangerous 43°C in Sangley Point, Cavite, and Aborlan, Palawan, while Metro Manila could see values between 40°C and 42°C.
No low-pressure area is currently being tracked for cyclone development, PAGASA added.
Across the archipelago, winds will be light to moderate, and coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
