National fertilizer derby heavyweight Unigrow biofertilizer did it again, this time bagging Rank 2 in the 1st Regional Corn Derby in Region IV-A Calabarzon helt at Sitio Rasak, Barangay Bantilan in Sariaya, Quezon.
Conducted by the Department of Agriculture Regional Office IV-Calabarzon, the results were validated based on the standard evaluation criteria set by the organizing committee, ensuring fairness and accuracy throughout the process.

“We sincerely thank your company for your participation and valuable contribution to the success of this activity,” Regional Corn Program Coordinator Jonadeth R. Almazan stated in her letter to JCW Worldwide Traders Corp., the sole distributor of Unigrow biofertilizer.
Curiously, Bio-N, an additive fertilizer, which was hugging the headlines recently, did not even make it to the top 5 of the said derby. It was learned from sources in the Department that Bio-N, produced by Agri Specialist Inc., owned by father and son chairman Dr. Mario Labadan Sr. and president Mario Labadan Jr., “do not really make it in any fertilizer derby in the entire country.”
“Azospirillum bacteria is already obsolete and seen as only added cost to farmers, that’s the reason why they avoid it,” the sources said.
“Bio-N is an additional burden, not in any way perceived to help farmers.
“You try distributing it to farmers, and nobody will avail of it even if you give it for free,” the sources said. (Nexus News, Views & Features)
