MANILA — A new survey by OCTA Research shows Vice President Sara Duterte still leading potential candidates for the 2028 presidential race, though her margin has significantly decreased.
Duterte registered 33 percent voter preference in the March 19–25 poll, slipping from 38 percent recorded in late 2025.
Trailing her is former vice president Leni Robredo, who climbed to 21 percent after gaining 13 points—the most notable increase among respondents’ choices.

This shift reduced Duterte’s lead from 30 points to just 12 points.
OCTA emphasized that Duterte’s dip falls within the survey’s margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent.
The polling period followed Duterte’s Feb. 18 announcement to run for president but preceded Robredo’s April 20 statement declining a national candidacy.
Other figures in the survey include Isko Moreno with 10 percent, while Raffy Tulfo and Bam Aquino each garnered 4 percent.
