MANILA — A restaurant in Marikina is showing its support to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and delivery riders affected by the rising fuel costs.
Trining’s Kitchen Stories is providing free meals to these individuals, serving hot meals daily at 4 PM until supplies last, located at Gil Fernando Avenue, Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina.
The restaurant, founded by Chef Jayson Maulit, aims to help alleviate the financial burden on drivers and riders.
Maulit shared that the initiative was inspired by his late grandmother, Trining, and their family’s experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The restaurant has already served over 1,125 meals and is accepting donations to sustain the program.
The initiative has received an overwhelming response from the community, with many expressing their gratitude for the restaurant’s kindness.
Trining’s Kitchen Stories hopes to continue serving those in need and encourages others to join in their efforts.
The restaurant is accepting donations and volunteers to help them reach more people.
