The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is bracing for a massive influx of passengers this Holy Week, with estimates suggesting up to 3 million travelers will pass through from March 22 to April 6. However, concerns are rising about potential bus shortages and fare hikes.
According to Jason Salvador, PITX Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Director, some bus operators are considering reducing trips due to soaring diesel prices. This could lead to higher fares and inconvenience passengers.
“Passengers will bear the brunt of this situation,” Salvador warned. “We’re advising them to book tickets early to avoid issues.”
PITX and government agencies are implementing measures to ensure passenger safety and comfort, including enhanced security and coordination with transport groups.
Passengers are advised to arrive early, check schedules, and keep valuables secure. PITX has increased police presence, baggage checks, and CCTV monitoring. Travelers can also expect clear signage, staff assistance, and designated waiting areas.
Travelera are also advice to consider traveling during off-peak hours, use official transport services, and stay updated on traffic and weather conditions. With some planning.
