MANILA – Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya now faces four tax evasion cases before the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA), following the dismissal of his motion for reconsideration, the Department of Justice said.
The charges, filed by the DOJ, accuse Discaya of failing to file tax returns and submitting inaccurate tax information. His wife, Cezarah Rowena “Sara” Discaya, had been charged earlier in February after her husband sought a reconsideration of her case.
Curlee Discaya, currently under Senate custody, runs St. Gerard Construction. Authorities have linked the couple to questionable flood control projects.
The criminal cases, based on documents dated December 2025, were officially filed on March 12, and the couple’s lawyers entered their appearance on March 18.
Government records estimate the Discayas’ tax liability at roughly PHP7.18 billion, covering unpaid individual income taxes and documentary taxes tied to their alleged divestments from four construction firms. Those convicted could face up to 10 years behind bars and fines of PHP100,000.
