The Manila Police District’s latest drug bust in Baseco, Manila, has resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old woman and the seizure of ₱40,800 worth of shabu. Rebecca Rado y Salik, also known as “Aji,” was caught with approximately six grams of the illicit substance during a buy-bust operation led by PLT Mark Jason N. Ramos and supervised by PLTCOL Rommel S. Anicete.
What sets this story apart is the swift action taken by the Manila Police District to address the drug problem in the city. “The operation was a testament to our commitment to keeping Manila safe and free from the scourge of drugs,” said a police spokesperson.
The arrest is part of a larger effort by the city government to combat drug trafficking and protect its citizens. The police department has been working closely with other agencies to identify and apprehend those involved in the illegal drug trade.
Rado is facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The case is currently being prepared for inquest proceedings.
