MANILA – Motorists may need to tighten their belts as fuel prices continue their upward trend this week, with diesel potentially climbing by up to P23.90 per liter amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a briefing, DOE Secretary Sharon Garin reported that diesel prices could rise between P20.40 and P23.90 per liter. Gasoline is not far behind, expected to increase by P12.90 to P16.60 per liter.
Kerosene prices will also be affected, with hikes of P6.90 to P8.90 per liter anticipated.
To help soften the blow, five fuel companies – Shell Pilipinas, Total, Seaoil, Petron, and Flying V – have committed to rolling out the price increases in stages.
