MANILA — Two suspects on a motorcycle held up an Alfamart convenience store in Binangonan, Rizal, early yesterday morning, making off with P18,000 in cash and several cellphones.
The brazen robbery happened around 1:40 a.m. when the suspects, wearing blue/red helmets, black sweatshirts, gray pants, and white sneakers, knocked on the store’s door in Brgy Tatala.
The victims, store crew members, were met with gunfire and violence when they opened the door. One suspect pistol-whipped a crew member while the other took P5,000 from the cash register.
The suspects then forced the victims upstairs, where they stole P13,000 from the vault. Three cellphones and a company phone were also taken before the suspects fled on a black Yamaha Aerox motorcycle with no license plate.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage to track the suspects’ escape route and identify them.
